Howard Miller Clock sells wood furniture division to New York lighting company
WALKER – Howard Miller Clock Co. of Zeeland divested its wood furniture manufacturing division in Brooklyn, NY Roll & Hill Furniture LLC.
Alexis Manufacturing Co., based at a 30,000 square foot factory in Walker, has been manufacturing intricate wood components and wood seating for 75 years. The company serves the residential and hotel market and also supplies other OEMs in the furniture industry with quality.

Howard Miller Clock had owned the company since 1983 and expanded the company’s contracting activities, according to a statement.
For lighting manufacturer Roll & Hill, the deal helps the company expand into a new market with wooden furniture.
âAlexis Manufacturing is a heritage brand that has stood the test of time and has enormous production capabilities,â said Jason Miller, founder of Roll & Hill, in a statement. âWe plan to continue this legacy, while bringing a new sense of energy and design. We want to restore the sense of excitement and possibility that American furniture, and particularly furniture from West Michigan, evoked.
Roll & Hill plans to maintain Alexis Manufacturing’s workforce and contact manufacturing business. The company plans to launch a collection of Alexis furniture this year.
Terms of the contract are not disclosed.
