Wood products manufacturer expands in Elkhart County

A Dallas-based manufacturer of industrial wood products is expanding into Elkhart County. MJB Wood Group LLC has opened a 500,000 square foot factory near Bristol and plans to double its workforce by creating 50 jobs.

Specific financial details were not disclosed, but MJB says it is investing tens of millions of dollars in the project. The company says the new facility will strengthen its ability to meet the supply needs of Midwestern customers, including in the recreational vehicle industry.

“We are excited to invest in this new facility because of MJB’s commitment to the dynamic RV industry in northern Indiana and surrounding areas,” Scott Griggs, president of MJB, said in a press release. “This new facility will improve inbound and outbound freight efficiency, allowing MJB to deliver more freight on time, while meeting customers’ tight receiving window.”

The new facility includes a 100,000 square foot manufacturing area that will allow for custom services including custom cutting, CNC machining, molding, kitting and light assembly, according to the company.

Construction is underway and the facility is expected to open in the first quarter of 2022.
